Title: I Am Milford Project
Course: Digital Photography
Artist: Alyssa Stults
Teacher: Mrs. Gollan
Subject Matter: front of the school and the varsity baseball field
Medium: Digital Photography
Project Goal: Capture pictures that show what it is to be a Maverick
Personal Review/Evaluation and Critique: I believe that my use of space was done very well in both these pictures. I made sure to not only have one thing sitting in the middle pf my pictures, but rather filled the picture with a variety of elements. I think that the tree I found out in front of the school shows texture. The branches bring this sort of sharpness to the picture. In my picture of the Varsity baseball field, the grass brings texture to the picture. In both of my photos, I think there is unity. The elements of each picture fit very well with the others in the picture. Nothing seems out of place. In the picture from the front of the school, I see movement. I see this in the waving flag shown in this picture. I really loved the freedom of this project. I found it very fun to look around the school to find things I thought made me feel like and proud to be a Maverick. I could improve this project by thinking more abstractly and finding something that is not seen too often. A strength of this project is the perspective I took on both of these pictures. I tried to take the pictures in a way so that when a person looks at these pictures, they can envision standing there where I took the picture. A weakness would be that my lighting looks bad because the sun was not out on the day I took these pictures. I learned during this project to try and relate my pictures to other people so that they are not just ideas in my head. If I was doing this project again, I would have tried to capture one of the beautiful sunrises that can be seen early in the school year when school starts.
